Yep. It's that time of year again: school begins at DVHS tomorrow, August 17th. CCC will be back up and running as soon as we can get the leadership organized and ready to live lives of love to show off God's character to a world in desperate need to be reconciled to Him. Let's show everyone what it means to be human: in God's likeness. We are to reflect Him. It's time!

So i havent had a place in my youth group, or anywhere in my chruch for more than a year and a half....(no wait, its been two years now), and it has taken its toll.
I mean, I teach 1st&2nd grade, and i go to youth group, but i dont have a place where i actually belong in my church. I've been praying for a purpose, ever since i wanted to leave the chruch, but was forced to stay. Two long hard years have passed, and now i think i know why God kept me at my church, and its just to leave it, only on His timing instead of mine:)
Let me explain.
Med skeens and his two sons (who are both married and have kids) are starting up a new church in an area of town that is verry rough. They're just getting started and they need a lot of help, so today Med asked me if I would be interested in helping him. And Im so excited!!!! I hope this is what God wants me to do, because that would be absolutely amazing!

I love writing poetry, or songs, both work for me! (they're the same:P)
Music is a release for me; an escape. So is walking arround outside and l
looking at the beauty God created!
Anyways, back to poetry! My brother showed me a poem that he thought I would like.
It was so good I decided to post it here, and email it to everyone:]
I dont know what the title is, but here's the poem:

There are facts in this world that still remain true.
We’re born, we live, we die, we are through.
From the dust we were made to have a free will
To the dust we return when buried on a hill

All funerals are sad there is no doubt
The body in wait and death does tout.
Ministers speak with means to console
The one who died, the heavenly soul.

The rally to God they all proclaim
Mistake and misleading it’s all the same.
The one who lived, “lived a good life.”
To be with God with out the strife.

No accountability and no remorse
For the life they led, death on course.
Satan is there in death as in hell
Consoling the lost all is well.

Just live a good life and be with God.
The ultimate lie, with deceit and fraud.
Many mislead by Satan’s lie
Be with God by getting by.

Free will was mentioned, don’t you see

I thought this poem is one that would make someone think,
maybe ask questions, and i dunno what else...

Wow, this summer has been really bussy!!! and its hard to keep up on this! so i have to go to bed be cause i have to get up at 5 tomarrow, meaning i dont have much time. so instead of a verse, here are some songs i can relate to in my life right at the moment:

Everything and everyone in my life seems to be changing, and that makes me think that maybe it's not everything and everyone, maybe it's me. And now I'm thinking it's a little of both.
There's a verse in ecclesiastes that talks about seasons we go through in our lives, I read it all the time to remind me that Gods timing is perfect.

Ecclesiastes 3
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

Sometimes I feel like the seasons in my life are so inconsistent and confusing! Or the season passes by within the second... (kinda like winter in Arizona:P) It's hard to keep up, and sometimes I wish the seasons would slow down! But while all of this is hard, I know the Lord is using it for his prefect plan and in his perfect timing. So I know there is a reason for everything, I just have to trust the amazing, almighty God we serve!

So with the economy right now, everyone is struggling to keep their heads above water.
I started to do some studying on God providing for his children, not necessarily money, but what we need, no luxuries included.
These are some verses i found:

Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Luke 12:6-7 6
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

2Kings 4:1-7 - this is a good story, read it sometime:P

All these verses remind me that God will get me through the day, and he will take care of me, so I dont have to worry about today or tomorrow! Its still hard for me though, not worrying and all... I just have to remind myself how small me and all my problems are, and how big God is!

Remember what a powerful, awesome, almighty God we serve! He will provide all of our needs!

So I went to a musical called Disney Review, and they sung a bunch of Disney movie songs. There was a song this girl was singing, that drew my attention called He Lives In You, from the lion king. I dont know how they used it in the movie, but if you put it into a sipitual context, its pretty intense for disney!

This is how the whole song goes:

Verse #2 of the summer:P

I was reading this today, (another one of God's promises) and it just encouraged me:)
Just to know that no matter what, no matter the circumstances, God is always with me! ALWAYS! So "If God is for us than who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
It Reminds me that God will deliver me from all my troubles, with no bones broken! And when I feel like the world is crashing down on me, it's ok, God's got it all figured out! Or when I feel nothing at all, when I can't see him or feel him, I know he's there.

So I've decided to try and post verses over the summer at least every other day.... so here goes day one verse one:)

"Be verry careful then how you live- not as unwise but as wise, making the most out of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hyms, and speritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the father for everything, in the name of our lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."
Ephesians 5: 15-21

I reffer back to this verse a lot! It reminds me:
* To live moraly, the way Christ wants me to
* Todays world is evil, so every opportunity we get to serve or worship the one and only God, we need to use it! Not let it pass us by.
*To know and understand God' s will, by reading his Holy Word and gaining spiritual wisdom. God will reveal his will to us, it's not a secret:)
*That Drunkeness is consistently condemned by Scriptures, and instesd of indulging in worldly activities, emerse yourself in the Spirit and wisdom of God.
*To Birng up my brothers and sisters in Christ using: praise, music exalting God, sharing personal testimony expressing the grace of salvation in Christ.
*Never forget to give thanks for who God is, and what he did through his son, our Savior and lord.
*Be submissive to athourity figures in Christ.
*Be humble
* To Fear the Lord, God Almighty!

quite a year

It has been an amazing year of ups and downs. There has been more stress and more spiritual warfare than I remember since I joined ccc at Deer Valley. We have had a very young leadership group this year, but they've done a great job, and I think they will continue to improve. The love they have for the students of DV and for each other shines through. I pray they will continue to grow in their love of the LORD, devotion to Him, and then living lives of sacrifice to our King. What a mighty God we serve! What a great calling we have! Let's live for Him! Enjoy your summer. I love you guys.

Today was the last and final CCC of the 08-09 school year! It was an all student speak night again, and as always, God showed up!:) Leadership wishes you a good summer, and we're always praying for you! It was an 'all student speak' night and... it turned out AMAZING!! The presence of God was turly there! By the end of the night, so many people were broken before the Lord, people were crying out to him, and focusing on the almighty God who loves them unconditionally!

We've had our first two leadership meetings already, and the students have decided that Tuesday nights at 6:30 is when we'll have CCC this year. We're looking forward to an exciting year, and our kick-off is coming on Tuesday, September 11th. We'll have games, a skit, a student speaker, a guest speaker, and a whole lot of fun. Don't miss it!

year one

Our first year was fantastic. We averaged around 25 students coming to our Monday night meetings at 6:30pm in either room 201 or 400, depending on the availability of 201. We had 8 student leaders who were dedicated and solid. They were an incredible team to work with; I have been greatly blessed. We now look forward with eager anticipation to what the LORD will do with Deer Valley this coming 2007-2008 school year. The dvccc could be a part of an incredible movement of His Spirit in a dark world. Praise His name! May He alone be glorified!
